My entry for the Epic Edits photo project to edit a photo by John Huson. The task was to post-process a specified photo in your own unique creative way. This doesn’t seem similar to other entries that I’ve seen before, so I’m curious to see the response. I wanted to try to build upon the mood of the photo, rather than alter it. I’ve been practising this style of portraits using the following technique..
1. multiply a series of thresholded layers together
2. Screen a couple of larger versions of the image over the top
3. Use a brush to paint black and white ink splots on new layers at the top and bottom of the stack
4. Use the path tool to draw a curved shape across the image
5. multiply extra thresholded versions of the photo on top of the image.
